Landwood Group was appointed by the joint Liquidators at KR8 Advisory Limited to value, manage and sell the assets of Phoenix Naylors Abrasives Ltd and Swift & Whitmoor Ltd.
Founded in 1968 and based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, Phoenix Naylors Abrasives was a long-established manufacturer of grinding wheels and abrasive products, including specialist components used in rail track maintenance. The business was believed to be the only UK manufacturer producing these products.
The instruction involved the disposal of more than 1,000 assets from the company’s manufacturing facility through a large-scale online auction. The sale included CNC machinery, heavy engineering equipment, specialist abrasive production systems, testing equipment, moulds, raw materials, vehicles and handling equipment.
Among the assets offered were Doosan Puma and Doosan S310N CNC lathes, Webster Bennett vertical borers, Bridgeport turret mills, hydraulic presses, curing ovens, grit dispensing systems, heat sealers and specialist manufacturing plant. Significant stocks of ceramic alumina, silicon carbide, zirconia, binding resins and other abrasive materials were also included, alongside forklifts, gantry cranes, compressors and dust extraction equipment.
Landwood Group managed the valuation, marketing and sale of the assets, delivering the opportunity to buyers across the engineering and manufacturing sectors to acquire high-quality industrial equipment from a well-established operation.
