“Introducing weekly auctions is just another way of us setting a new standard for what buyers and sellers alike can expect from an online auction service.”

Back in May, Landwood made the decision to step-up our offering and increase the regularity of our auctions from monthly to weekly. And what a success it has been so far!

Since introducing our weekly auctions, we’ve seen three times as many lots as we did for the entire 12 month period preceding it. Not only that, we’ve also seen completions more than double in that period, with some lots selling for as much as 356% over their listed guide price.

With more opportunities to both sell and buy online with Landwood, and all from the comfort of their own home or office, success looks set to continue. Speaking of the decision to move to weekly sales, our director Kate Lay said: “We deliver a genuinely personal service, giving clients immediate access to impartial, straightforward and clear advice.

“We work hard to constantly develop innovative ways of delivering auction services that fit with modern, ever-changing client and buyer requirements and behaviours.

“Introducing weekly auctions is just another way of us setting a new standard for what buyers and sellers alike can expect from an online auction service.”

Fellow director James Ashworth added: “We’re proud to be the only professional auctioneer in Manchester that’s really pushing forward with the online method of selling property and land, not to mention one of very few online-only auctioneers offering weekly lots as standard.

“It’s fantastic to see such success and we look forward to seeing lot and sales numbers increase in the coming months, with November on course to be our most successful month yet!”

Over the last 12 months Landwood has dealt with everything from a city centre penthouse apartment to a grade two listed bank, a holiday home in the Shetland Isles to a stretch of riverbank in the heart of the Lake District National Park. And it’s not always the bigger properties that attract the most interest, with buyers rushing to snap up the lower priced and smaller lots as a way to expand their property portfolio. This variety on offer is yet another aspect of Landwood’s service which is helping to make our weekly auctions a huge success.

Directors Kate and James are already looking ahead to 2020 and, with concrete plans in place to further develop the brand and it’s online offering in the coming months, it’s an exciting time to be involved with Landwood Property Auctions.

Kate said: “James and I are delighted with the growth we’ve enjoyed throughout 2019 and are looking forward to continuing this into 2020 and beyond. In the earlier days of Landwood Property Auctions, many asked us if online bidding could truly match the competition of a traditional room auction?

“The answer? Without a doubt”
